Creating this game was truly a fool’s errand.

I had been a professional filmmaker/animator for two decades. I knew nothing about computers. And even less about the computer gaming industry.

As fate would have it, I bought a Mac 512K in 1984. Then I received MS-Basic as a Christmas gift that same year. And despite my better instincts, I found myself tinkering with programming. I was hooked.

Jimmy Maher tells the tale in his article Cliff Johnson’s Fool’s Errand on his The Digital Antiquarian blog.

A shadow falls over the Land. Its people grow eccentric and forgetful. Hidden enchantments prevent safe passage along familiar paths. The four Kingdoms are on the verge of war.

Only the magic of the Sun’s map can undo this treachery. And this map is held by a wandering Fool who seeks his fortune.

The Game:

“My sister had this blanket made for me and it’s the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Thank you for sharing your gifts with us all.”
This Scottish gamer (IkoFoo) kinda likes the game, kinda hates the game, but he spins a good yarn.
